If you plan to customize the standard colour range of SKY PARAGLIDERS gliders, use the utility bellow. When your colour scheme is ready, COPY the name of glider and colours picked (for example: Fides 2: Gold / Red Dragon / Deep Blue) into your order.


The glider with personalized colours is available only at extra costs and it is possible to use any “possible“ colour schemes. The delivery depends on the load of the workshop and may wary depending.

%0A<h4>Colour%20scheme:</h4>%0A<p><img%20height=" width="190" src="/FileShare/soubory-ve-skladu/barevne-variace/fides-eco/earth-blue.png">The French company Porcher Sport, which is part of the NVC GROUP, supplies the glider fabric. In the last two years Porcher Marine have been heavily involved in fabric development; creating new and more durable coatings which has led to a new generation of materials that came to be known as New Skytex.

The new coating is much more resistant to abrasion, humidity and is UV resistance.

We use Skytex 9017 and coating E77A (bilateral water base coating that impregnates the fibres, rather than just the surface) for the top surface. The under surface of the wing is made from the same fabric with an E38A coating. The internal ribs are made from Skytex 9017 and the E29A coating.

The fabric is manufactured using the “Rip Stop” weave structure, out of superpolyamid (PA 6.6) by the American firm DU PONT.

Line scheme

The lines on the FIDES are of the highest quality and are supplied by the German firm EDELRID. These lines create high resistance from mechanical abrasion as well as a high degree of length stability.

For the upper cascade we used EDELRID 7850–080 lines. These lines are one millimetre in diameter; the core is manufactured out of “dyneema” and the outer sheath from polyester. The lower lines are manufactured out of 6843–200 and 6843–160 line series with 1,8 and 1,5mm diameters. The core is made from “aramid” and the outer sheath is again made from polyester.

Risers

The risers are made from 25 mm wide webbing, it is manufactured by our supplier MOUKA TIŠNOV. The suspension lines are connected to the risers by means of quick links (mailons); which come from the French supplier Maillon Rapide.

In 2007 Sky Paragliders company was certified as a 100% SKYTEX partner for Porcher Marine fabrics. That allows us to use the latest development benefits and share them with all our pilots. Also the certification ensures that the whole glider is made of the same material and that SKY PARAGLIDERS do not combine the best available quality of Porcher with any other materials available in the market.

Fly & glide (Germany, May 2002, number 5)

Special attention was paid to manufacturing quality and to the selection of materials to produce state of the art gliders. The FIDES has all upper and lower panel seams outside the supporting surface. The lines are sewn together cleanly and are differentiated by colour. The quick links (line to riser connectors) have plastic fillers. The bag is well manufactured; its size is certainly adequate and it has several handy pockets.

The brake pressure is progressive and increases with the amount applied. As the stall point is approached, the brake pressure becomes so high that enormous strength is required to hold it in. It is impossible to ignore or mistake this warning.

Due to the high inherent stability of the glider it was very difficult to perform a full stall; when it was managed, the recovery was very benign.

The FIDES is an excellent training glider. Both students and instructors will value its high level of stability.

… It was a pleasant surprise – a DHV 1 category wing, that offers the performance of a middle category glider with comfortable handling and surprising performance. It is comparable to the P25 and Boxtair.

… Even though the FIDES has an aspect ratio of less than 5, this wing ranks among the best available thanks to its new profile. It is efficient and reliable with a maximum measure of passive safety.

… The glide ratio is a pleasant surprise, as well as its sink rate. (…) … Surprisingly good performance for the class, given the aspect ratio is less than 5. The Fides is deceptive. It’s a gentle wing to fly, a long way from the old “barges” which used to be used as school gliders. Its price makes it a popular choice for a school glider or for a low airtime pilot a looking for a fun glider, which is at the same time very safe and forgiving.
